 William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564 to John Shakespeare, a tradesman, and Mary Arden, the daughter of a landowner. He died on the same day at the age of 52, 1616. Shakespeare attended the local grammar school, where he received classical education of Greek, Roman comedy, ancient history rhetoric, grammar and Latin. When he was a child his father was in serious financial debt. It was the main reason why he didn’t attend any university. In 1582 at the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway, who was eight years older than he was.

Shakespeare is an author whose works have been translated into every major language of the world and his plays are performed more than that of any other playwrights.
